Dandelion - Naturally Healthful

Taraxacum officinale.

This vibrant plant with its spiky leaves is also known as Lion's Tooth, Priest's Crown and Swine's Snout. It is known to have a range of health benefits and has been used in traditional medicine across cultures for centuries, appearing in Arabic Herbals as far back as the 11th Century. The word Taraxacum is derived from Greek taraxos (disorder) and akos (remedy).  

 

 

 

Traditional uses: support detoxification; liver stimulant & cleansing tonic; indigestion

 Plant family: Asteraceae

Parts used: dried root and herb

Actions include: Diuretic, liver and digestive tonic, mild laxative, detoxicant, gentle lymphatic
